This is an interactive map of community gardens throughout DC.  The city is speckled with little green points where people are productively growing and munching on veggies.  Its really cool to be able to visualize these gardens.

But when I look at this map I know that there must be so many more places (school, vacant lots, backyards, rooftops, on and on and on….) where people are growing stuff! It would be awesome to have an interactive map like this where people could post their personal gardens, lists of what they grow, rooftop gardens, community gardens, school gardens, containers, anything!  There could even be lists of what each garden grows and why they garden, it would be such an interesting and, dare I say, human ecological project- I think it would be amazing to geographically see all the green spaces of the city.

But thats just an idea, this community garden map (which is amazing!) isn’t mine to change into a green spaces map… I can only make suggestions.  SO, if you know of any community or school gardens in DC that aren’t already on the map, put them on!
